This strawberry ice cream is not only delicious, but it takes very little time to make, and it does not require eggs! This will become your new go-to refreshing dessert to try this spring.
Makes 1 quart

Pull Together:
2 cups strawberries
1 cup white sugar divided
2 cups whole milk
2 cups heavy cream
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Ice cream machine
Blender

Steps:
Dice the strawberries and put in a bowl with 1/2 a cup of sugar, mix the strawberries until coated. Let the strawberries sit for 15 minutes. At this stage, you can blend the strawberries for a few seconds for smoother ice cream.
In a large bowl, combine milk, heavy cream, vanilla, salt, rest of the sugar, and strawberries. whisk the mixture until well blended and place the bowl in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Pour mixture into your ice cream machine and follow the directions provided by the manufacturer.
Notes:
For richer ice cream, add more heavy cream than milk.
Letting the strawberries sit in sugar will extract all the natural flavors and provide the true strawberry flavor in the icecream.
You can add red food coloring to make the color darker if desired.
